In Italy to wish good luck we say “In bocca al lupo,” which literally means inside the wolf’s mouth. The origin of the phrase could come from Romulus and Remulus, or from the fact that inside the wolf’s mouth the pups are safe (each person tells you a different version of the origin of the phrase)

When we respond to “In bocca al lupo“ I like to say “Long live the wolf,” (Viva il lupo) but alternatively there are those who say “Crepi” or simply “Grazie”
